For the purposes of our pricing plans:
A Small Business has less than 1,000 tonnes of CO2e per year, less than 30 staff, less than $10million turnover, does not produce or sell physical products and at least 80% of emissions are from the government approved list of standard sources
A Medium Business has less than 2,000 tonnes of CO2e per year and does not produce or sell physical products
If your business emits in excess of 2,000 tonnes of CO2e per year or you handle physical products as a significant part of your business, we will need to have an initial discussion with you before confirming your fees. Please see our Large/Complex projects page for more information.
The three tiers of service we provide all use the same core software platform, and all allow you to calculate your emissions, but differ in the level of detail and verification involved:
- Self Assessed will allow you to identify your emission sources, calculate your emissions and purchase offsets. It also includes our proprietary emission reduction strategy tool which uses your operational data to provide reduction suggestions showing actual reduction values
- Accountant Verified in addition to the above, we will create a verification document which will require signoff from your accountant. You will then receive a Verified Carbon Neutral report and be listed in our Carbon Neutral database. Customers typically complete this process in three to ten business days.
- Government Certified includes all the above as well as assistance gaining certification from Climate Active, the Australian Government's official carbon neutral certification. Customers typically complete this process in two to three weeks, but certification itself can take up to 6 months due to delays in the government approval process.
Our Process:
Sign-up and use our online software to create your emission inventory
Follows the guided tool to provide the required input values to calculate your estimated emissions.
2a. Certified packages will have a video consultation at this point to cover any questions and to ensure appropriateness for certification
Take the automatically created activity statement to your accountant for confirmation, upload the signed document into our portal. (Certification packages require sign-off by a Chartered Accountant or CPA, we can facilitate if required)
Use our tool to identify an appropriate provider of certified offsets and purchase the required amount, this is usually instant with an online credit card purchase.
Our platform will use the data provided plus some additional online questions to identify and calculate a list of realistic and effective reduction strategies, you will be able to customise and select the ones you would like to implement. Use our template driven tool to create a public reduction strategy with action points and goals
5a. Certified packages will have a video consultation at this point to review the report data and ensure completeness and appropriateness for certification
Use our Public Disclosure Statement tool and templates to create a full statement (see below for an example)
Review and confirm your details to receive your report and be entered into our online Carbon Neutral database.
For certified packages, we will now create the required documents ready for submission to Climate Active. We will continue to provide any assistance required to complete the certification process.
All our packages cover a one-year reporting period. Subsequent periods will require the renewal of your selected package at the published price applicable when you renew. The reporting period can be either on a calendar year or financial year basis.
The process for subsequent years follows the same steps, but the software will automatically copy previous year configuration, so in most cases, there will be very little change in the configuration/inventory, you will essentially be providing updated data for the previously identified emission activities. The emission reduction section will however be more complex as you will be required to provide actual vs target data and updated targets and activities.
